Here at Reach Conference Centre we’ve done just that. With a full building renovation in 2020 (the year of lockdown – can you believe!), we’ve ensured that every detail is fit to purpose – even considering those details that our clients might not.
So what is it that makes our conference centre stand out? Why is it that our business has grown year on year with clients consistently coming back to host their meetings, awards nights, conferences, and training sessions?
It all starts with the right team. A team who are forward thinkers, hard workers and passionate about the business. Reach Conference Centre is a charity focussed on improving the lives of the local community. Having set up Reach Community Grocery a year ago, the business pours 100% of it’s profits back into community initiatives such as this, so having a team made up of individuals equally as passionate about people is key. It’s a small team here (2 in finance, 2 in sales, 2 in events management, and a handful of casuals) and each one is dedicated to working to their best ability – because what we do here matters. Every sale, every coffee poured, every presentation streamed is a representation of the character behind the business.
Building details matter. Nobody wants to be travelling down endless corridors trying to find un-marked rooms. Your building needs to be easy to access, and simple to navigate. Reach Conference Centre operates on two floors – and both are fully accessible with wide enough corridors and a lift for access. With rooms clearly marked out, and only one main hallway in which the rooms are adjoined, it’s impossible to get lost in our building. Access is key now. Our building contains an accessible lift, double entry doorways and even a changing shower. Nobody needs be excluded from an event hosted at Reach Conference Centre.
Internally, we’ve organised our rooms to be simple to navigate, but our events space is also positioned in the heart of pride park. We have our own parking, are only 5 minutes walk from the nearest train station, are surrounded by overflow carparks just 2 minutes walk from the building and we’re easily accessible via all major travel routes. Derby itself is centrally located in the UK, and Reach Conference Centre is centrally located in Derby.
Event planning can be a complicated and stressful role, and we pride ourselves here on taking the stress away. Every client receives a dedicated event planner who’ll go through the days itinerary with you to ensure no details has been missed. From coffee serving times, to the moment you need music playing for your delegates – nothing will go amiss and no detail is too small. We organise caterers, events staff, technicians, set designers and, of course, event planners, to make sure it all runs smoothly.
Our building has everything you might need for your event. 9 conference room with state-of-the-art clickshare technology means no presentations will be lost in the ether. Simply connect and click. Hosting a larger presentation? Our presentation screens can be connected so that all your delegates have clear visibility. Need a breakout space? We have 9 conference rooms in total with our smallest the perfect size to accommodate numbers of 8 and below. Hosting a conference or awards night? Our main hall comes packed with half a million pounds worth of technical equipment, and your dedicated technician will be on hand to make sure your event gives the impact you desire.
