At Reach Conference Centre we pour our heart and soul into our events because everything we do supports valuable projects and charities in the local community. 100% of our profits go back into these projects so we are always thrilled to hear stories and see success! Recently our Reach Community Grocers, an organisation dedicated to providing affordable groceries to those struggling with the cost of living crisis, celebrated 400 members and we couldn’t be more pleased!

With 23,000 individuals and 2in5 children living under the breadline in Derby, we knew something needed to be done. Our Community Grocers, which sits below our offices here on Pride Park, opened in the summer last year in a bid to provide affordable groceries to those who fall between the cracks. A completely self-referred and no means tested project, this store has now been providing a weekly shop to customers for the last 8 months and we’re constantly growing!

Working alongside companies such as Co-operative and Alstom, we’ve managed to also host a variety of courses from arts and crafts to healthy eating, wanting to offer a holistic approach to our service given – making sure an immediate need is met but that skill building can also be accessed.

We’re so proud of the work we are doing here to support projects like this and we’ll be celebrating 400 members with the Community Grocers (and look forward to celebrating the next milestone too!).
